A Boeing 747 Dreamlifter mistakenly landed at a small Kansas airport not far from the Air Force base where it was supposed to deliver parts for the company’s new 787 Dreamliner. Instead, the 747 landed 8 miles north, at the much smaller Col. James Jabara Airport. Later that day, the Dreamlifter took off again and was expected to land soon at its planned destination. In one part of the conversation between ATC and the pilot, they say: ATC: “Giant 4241 heavy, confirm you know what airport you are at.” Pilot says: “Well, (laugh) I think we have a pretty good pulse.” ATC: “Giant 4241 heavy, it appears you are at Jabara”.
