SHARE THIS >> Another great air-to-air photo and video shoot by the Belgian Aviation Photocrew, and Maxim Termote. It was a very challenging photo flight because of the relative slow speed of the giant Lockheed Super Constellation. They crossed the English Channel in a Skyvan to get some spectacular shots of this beautiful iconic airliner over the white cliffs of Dover. The Lockheed Constellation is one of the most iconic prop-liner ever made. They are easily recognizable by their beautiful designed triple-tail, dolphin-shaped fuselage, and four 18-cylinder radial Wright R-3350 engines. The Constellation was also the presidential aircraft for U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In June 2000, the Swiss based Super Constellation Flyers Association (SCFA) was formed with the main goal to bring a Lockheed Super Constellation to Europe and fly at the European Airshow scene. With its main sponsor being the Swiss Watch manufacturer Breitling, the aircraft received the markings “Breitling Super Constellation”, in addition to the title “Star of Switzerland”.
